Is your love really Love?
Is my love really Love?
I think our love isn’t Love,
Unless it’s Love to the end.
Is your god really God?
Is my god really God?
I think our god isn’t God,
If he fits inside our heads.

i am a Christian.
i believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. i believe that God created everything. however, this doesn’t rule out science or math. i do believe that there are formulas and equations involved that help us understand why things are the way they are. i think that the amount of knowledge there is to learn is infinite and i also believe the capacity at which our brains operate is limited. and some people have more usage capacity than others. i believe this has a lot to do with genetics and code. but like i said before… some sciences are too complicated to understand and we have yet to learn more about them. i believe that we couldn’t handle the knowledge it takes to consciously use our brain in its entirety. i believe this is why people with higher IQs tend to go crazy.
i believe that God is selfish and equally unselfish. i believe that He created us out of love and because of that He has every right to be selfish. i believe He was lonely. and i believe He created us originally to be His companion, friend and child. the only condition involved is that we have freewill. and in that condition, He is equally unselfish. we have the ability to choose accroding to what we know, believe and feel. i think this is satisfying and equally frustrating to Him. i believe this because of the human condition.
i believe as human beings we have many abilities and with freewill we have choices. i think that every human is born with a conscience. i believe that deep in our spirit, no matter what, we know what is right and what is wrong. but like i said before, we have freewill, therefore, we can make the choice to do good or do evil. i believe we have the choice to react or not. which means i also believe we can choose to believe in God or not believe in Him, depending on what we know and how we feel.
i believe we are not perfect and therefore doomed to do evil things on a daily basis. i believe that even if we know in our heart of hearts what is right and what is wrong, we are still capable of making mistakes and doing wrong. i do believe that what happens to us, in our lives, directly affects the decisions we make. i believe those decisions also affect the lives of others more greatly than we think. i also believe that what we desire most directly affects the decisions we make. i believe that if i have selfish thoughts and actions, then i will do what i believe will benefit me and me alone. i believe that if i think and do for others, then i will do something to benefit others instead of myself, but also indirectly benefit myself. in this case i think, God is the same. i believe that He has made decisions according to what He desires for us and what is best for us, but we ultimately can decide for ourselves when it comes to our actions. some actions deserve reward or merit and some actions deserve consequences and punishment.
i try to follow the principles of the bible. i believe that it is a sacred book. i believe that its truth has been upheld to best of our abilities as human beings and i believe that the history of the bible is profound. i believe that its writings compared to the rest of the history of the world have been kept as accurate as possible. i have read it in its entirety and found it to be true to itself and to my life. i believe that it is a book that one must read with an open heart and open mind. i do not believe the people who wrote it and translated it are perfect, and i do not believe that it is the total truth, but i do believe that it is enough of the truth to be able to uphold itself. i believe its overall message to be comprehensive. i think its message is both simple and also intricate. i believe it is a book to be experienced. i believe it has a lot of fundamental teachings involving morals and character. i believe people are capable of being morally good and of outstanding character without reading a word of the bible for as long as they live, but i believe that the book gives people purpose and understanding beyond basic teaching and learning. i think the book gives particular insight on matters of relationship. i believe that the knowledge written upon its pages is vast and beneficial to leading a better life.
i believe in fellowship. i believe that it is essential to survival. i believe that relationships are imperative and that understanding people is the key to living in harmony with others. i believe that Jesus portrays the very character of God and therefore is an example to us all. i believe that i should try my best day by day to uphold a likeness in character as well. i believe that surronding yourself with people of like character is also important. i believe who we associate with is a direct reflection of who we are, much like we are supposed to be ambassadors for God. i believe you become much like who you surround yourself with most.
i believe in love. i believe it is an verb and a noun. i believe that it should be unconditional. and in that way, i believe that it is the purest form of truth. i believe that it should also be shared and reciprocated. i believe that it has many facets. but i believe that the categories can be simplified in the following examples: love in the form of affection; love in the form of friendship; love in the form of passion; and love in the form of charity. i believe it can be found in many things, but i believe those can all be put into one of those categories. i also believe love can be perverted. and i believe, like many things, it can become a vice. i believe that, in its purest form, God is love. i believe that everything He is and has created is love and from love. i also believe that by Him we are shown every aspect of this love. i believe that He shows us through faith and through action. i believe that He sacrificed His Son for us to ultimately show us that He loves us more than anything He has ever created.
i believe in prayer. i believe in communication between God and myself. i believe in the focus i receive through it and the comfort i receive from it. i believe that it is something to be practiced on a regular basis. and although i believe in the answers i receive from it, i also believe that not everything deserves an answer. i also believe that some prayers take time to answer.
i believe in the Holy Spirit. i believe its power. i believe that God speaks to me in a multitude of ways through the Holy Spirit. i receive countless confirmations in my life through that power. i believe that some people are entrusted to speak on behalf of the Holy Spirit. this power is most often abused by people who don’t understand fully, and i believe that many abuse it. i believe that following the Holy Spirit leads me to God. i believe in the annointing of the Holy Spirit. i believe that even more than the Word of God, it is something that needs to be received with an open heart and open mind. without the Holy Spirit, the Word of God cannot become alive and i believe that a lot of its claims are void without an full understanding of the Trinity.
i don’t claim to know everything. i don’t claim to know much at all compared to all of the knowledge that is available to me. i have probably even left out a lot of what i believe and think because in a few hours worth of typing i just cannot seem to remember everything i have learned concerning the topic. my understanding has limits and sometimes i often wonder if i am sane when i think about or even read what i have written about what i believe. honestly, i understand why people will mock what i believe and do not accept my faith in such things. if certain things hadn’t happened in my life to give me confirmation absolutely against all doubts i may have had, i would also call myself insane. but i think that is probably the most beautiful thing about my faith in all of this. it’s not all tangible. it’s wholly something that i alone experience and no one can take any of it away from me. it is as real to me as the computer i am typing on. and that is more than enough for me to keep believing.
