purpose: day 20
“Do your part to live in peace with everyone, as much as possible.” -Romans 12:18 (NLT)
the mark of spiritual maturity is being a peacekeeper.
this is hard work. but it is NOT appeasment. stand your ground.
“May our dependably steady and warmly personal God develop maturity in you so that you get along with each other as well as Jesus gets along with us all.” -Romans 15:5 (The Message)
when it comes to conflict:
talk to God before talking to the person.
always take the initiative. acting quickly also reduces spiritual damage to you.
sympathize with their feelings. and pay close attention to what they have to say.
confess your part of the conflict.
attack the problem, not the person.
“The wise are known for their understanding, and instruction is appreciated if it’s well presented” -Proverbs 16:21 (NLT)
cooperate.
and emphasize reconciliation, not resolution.
“But all things are from God, Who through Jesus Christ reconciled us to Himself [received us into favor, brought us into harmony with Himself] and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation [that by word and deed we might aim to bring others into harmony with Him].” -II Corinthians 5:18 (AMP)
“Life is all about learning how to love.”

Amen!
