THE HEART OF WORSHIP IS SURRENDER

“Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness.” -Romans 6:13 (ESV)

“Do not continue offering or yielding your bodily members [and faculties] to sin as instruments (tools) of wickedness. But offer and yield yourselves to God as though you have been raised from the dead to [perpetual] life, and your bodily members [and faculties] to God, presenting them as implements of righteousness.” -Romans 6:13 (AMP)

surrender-to give oneself up, as into the power of another; submit or yield.

surrender is the natural response to God’s amazing love and mercy.
true worship happens when you give yourself completely to God.
and God wants your life–ALL of it.
(note: it is His isn’t it? i mean… He created you and your life belongs to Him by default)

but the 3 barriers that keep you from doing this very thing are: fear; pride; and confusion.

“The reason why many are still troubled, still seeking, still making little forward progress is because they haven’t yet come to the end of themselves. We’re still trying to give orders and interfering with God’s work within us.” -A.W. Tozer

surrendered hearts show up best in relationships.

“Stop quarreling with God! If you agree with him, you will have peace at last, and things will go well for you.” -Job 22:21 (NLT)

your wisest moments will be whe you say yes to God.
there is a moment of surrender and there is a practice of surrender.
practicing is something you continue… and in this case it is moment by moment and lifelong.
the problem with a living sacrifice is that it can get up from the altar.

so… put yourself in check. surrender. just raise the white flag.
