OK. This is a post a friend of mine had.
Then another friend commented and she replied to the comment.
I then decided to reply to that.
So who wants to comment on all of it?

•FRIEND 1:
Hey I have a prayer request to anyone who prays

Someone close to me was diagnosed with lung cancer a few days ago and it isn’t looking very good. Please please please do me a favor and stick her in your prayers… her family isnt a Christian one so she won’t even have her own prayers… I need yalls help! and maybe through this.. God can open their eyes to his love.. :-/

gosh

•FRIEND 2:
God can’t open people’s eyes. I mean He can, but He won’t. That would defy the entire principle of freewill. Humans are so dumb. They’re always asking God to do this, and do that and make this happen, and yet we all have freewill. God wants you to just live your life. Do you thing, and just talk to him. Remember why He created man in the first place… for companionship.

•FRIEND 1:
Thanks I hope she does also…
but I disagree with what you said somewhat.. but no one is going to.. or shouldnt.. see eye to eye when it comes to God.. everyones relationship is different.. and people are going to see and feel differently about things.. but I wasnt saying anything about him forcing them to accept him… but just for him to shine a little light in their life so they can see more clearly.. what they are missing.. God does things all the time to show himself to the lost.. thats what we are here for.. to be used by God to help him gain relationships with others. I think you and I should talk sometime.. it’d be cool! :)

okay. heres my take.

god reveals things at the appointed time.
we cant pray for god to open someones eyes. he chooses when where who why how etc.
everything is by divine appointment.
we also have freewill. we choose what we do.
he knows whats going to happen.
but… he doesnt have direct control of our hearts or minds. basically he cannot tell our soul what to do.
that would defeat our purpose to seek him.
he chooses when to reveal the “mystery” to us. then we seek him and find our purpose in his plan.
not only is there fellowship with him but also with others. we are suppose to spread the word. even in a simple thing like this livejournal entry. its all part of this divine plan of his. its really crazy to grasp at times. but then again its not like he didnt give us full warning. its just not easy.
and that is how the deal is sealed my friend.
keep in mind we can also choose to ignore the revelation.
this is also how we can seal the deal.
its a double edge sword.

hope that made sense.

(i have revised this comment a wee bit and added some detail)

  1. Look!

I am right. I am infalliable. I am always right.

No but seriously, I think people put too much emphasis on God as a puppet master and not enough on God as a friend.

  2. the last paragraph seems like you’re assuming a ton of stuff that is obviously far, far beyond your realm of comprehension. you have no basis for any of those statements just like the other person has no basis for theirs.

but basically think of it like this…. it’s always correct to be rational. if god is perfect he must henceforth be 100 percent rational. so as long as you feel you’re doing the correct thing at any given time, you’re good to go because either you are doing the right thing or god couldn’t fault you for doing the wrong thing because you were making your best attempt to do the right thing.

but pretending like you or the other person know how god works is a little out there, if praying makes you feel good do it, you couldn’t possibly come up with proof that it works or doesn’t work so its essentially something you do for yourself.

that being said: HALY SATAN FUCK JESUS EAT BABYS ETC ETC

    <3 love you

    adam

  3. well…

    faith is totally experience.
i only know what i have experienced first hand.
so i pray and in return i get answers.
there are things that have happened to me that i cant explain other than i directly prayed fo it and god answered. so anything i write is only because i do know.
sometimes these things are really hard to explain.

    i love you too.

  4. yes…
    i know what you mean.

  5. oh. you love him, but you “luv” me. wtf?

  6. of course i love you!!!
